Parts departments shake COVID-19 onset, grow sales in March
Exclusive data for Outdoor Power Equipment magazine readers from Constellation Data Solutions, a division of Constellation Dealership Group, shows Same Store Sales results at outdoor power equipment dealerships for the month of March. The composite data is pulled from dealerships that use Constellation’s Ideal and c-Systems DMS brands. The Same Store Sales data compares March 2020 vs. March 2019 at 1,176 independent servicing OPE dealerships.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, March U.S. parts sales grew by 1 percent overall vs. March 2019 on average across the U.S.
Here’s the March parts revenue breakdown by region:
West — 2 percent decrease
Midwest — 5 percent decrease
Northeast — 12 percent increase
South — 1 percent increase
USA — 1 percent increase
Canada — 18 percent decrease

West — 56 percent down; 44 percent up
Midwest — 46 percent down; 54 percent up
Northeast — 45 percent down; 55 percent up
South — 44 percent down; 56 percent up
USA — 46 percent down; 54 percent up
