Utility vehicles to have greater presence at GIE+EXPO 2014

Attendees at the 2014 Green Industry & Equipment Expo (GIE+EXPO) will find a new emphasis on work utility vehicles (UTVs) in Louisville this October. In addition to seeing the UTVs on the indoor show floor, attendees will have the opportunity to test-drive UTVs from exhibitors offering test tracks in the Outdoor Demonstration Area. GIE+EXPO is set for October 22-24 at the Kentucky Exposition Center.

Making the biggest splash, Polaris will return to GIE+EXPO for the second straight year to showcase its three lines of UTVs. In fact, the company has increased its outdoor space by more than 400 percent to make room for 16,000 square feet of demo track where attendees can test-drive utility vehicles from its BRUTUS, GEM and RANGER lines. Additionally, customers can put BRUTUS’ complete line of purpose-built, hydraulic and PTO attachments to the test for applications they execute every day like picking up, transporting, and dumping 500 pounds of stones in the Materials Bucket and mowing large, open lawns with a 66-inch-wide finishing mower.

“In our first year as an exhibitor, we found GIE+EXPO 2013 to be a great venue to connect and engage with green industry professionals and received very positive feedback from BRUTUS customer demos,” said Aaron Stegemann, Polaris business development manager. “This year, we’re providing attendees a demo area large enough where they can get in the driver’s seat of all of our diesel, gas and electric work utility vehicle options.”

Ariens/Gravely is also adding a demo track to its Outdoor Demonstration Area exhibit.

Polaris Work UTV Giveaway

GIE+EXPO attendees will have the opportunity to enter the Polaris Work UTV Giveaway! One lucky winner will have the option to select a Polaris BRUTUS, GEM or RANGER Work UTV. All attendees will receive an entry with their show badge. To enter, they must drop off the completed entry at the Polaris indoor booth (7212) by the end of the show on Friday, Oct. 24.

“UTVs have had a presence at GIE+EXPO for years, but this year exhibitors are really stepping it up and putting the spotlight on them,” said Warren Sellers, show director. “We expect the demo tracks to add a lot of synergy to the outdoor area. If you’re in the market for a utility vehicle, this is the year to attend.”

GIE+EXPO’s 2014 dates are Wednesday, Oct. 22, Dealer Day, and Thursday and Friday, Oct. 23-24, for all industry participants. The annual event is sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, Inc. (OPEI), Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) and Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).
