Honda signs sponsorship deal with Atlanta Motor Speedway

Honda Power Equipment has announced a new sponsorship agreement with Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) in Hampton, Ga. Honda’s series of extremely quiet portable generators has been named the track’s “Official Portable Generator,” joining a distinguished list of products offered by select sponsors of the facility.

AMS is a 1.54-mile (2.48-km) quad-oval track that hosts two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races annually. The venue’s total capacity is approximately 125,000 spectators, and it is considered to be one of the fastest tracks on the NASCAR circuit.

As part of the new sponsorship, Honda Power Equipment will work with AMS to support track operations, supplying Honda commercial mowers, trimmers, generators, and a Honda Big Red multi-purpose utility vehicle. In addition, Honda will provide AMS mobile light towers with generators for use during each of its NASCAR evening events. Further, Honda representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide support to the race teams, fans, vendors and campers who rely upon generator power at each race.

“It is an honor for Honda Power Equipment to be a partner with the Atlanta Motor Speedway,” said Steve Bailey, vice president, Honda Power Equipment. “Because performance matters, we are proud to provide a range of Honda products that are up to the challenge of superior performance in one of the most competitive environments in the world.”

Honda Power Equipment markets a complete line of generators for commercial and consumer applications. Lightweight, compact Honda generators provide smooth, dependable power for recreation, construction, rental and emergency use. All Honda generators are powered by Honda four-stroke engines that make them among the world’s quietest.

The company also markets a line of lawn mowers and string trimmers for commercial, premium residential and consumer applications. In keeping with Honda’s tradition of technological and environmental leadership, all Honda lawn mower and string trimmer models feature Honda’s easy-starting engines that deliver smooth, quiet and reliable four-stroke power.

“Atlanta Motor Speedway strives to deliver excellent quality in the events we produce, and we are thrilled by our new relationship with Honda Power Equipment,” said Ed Clark, Atlanta Motor Speedway president and general manager. “Honda delivers high-quality, dependable products that assist Atlanta Motor Speedway in producing our events, as well as providing a quality power source for the many campers attending our annual racing events.”

The Atlanta Motor Speedway opened in 1960, and the facility has hosted the most 500-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in history. The 50-year-old venue also features a quarter-mile track for Legends racing and a 2.5-mile (4-km) FIA-approved road course, among other configurations.
