MWE unveils new line of Westinghouse portable generators

On March 22, Midwest Equipment Sales (MWE) of Columbus, Ohio, announced the availability of a completely new line of Westinghouse portable generators, including inverter generators, open-frame generators, and contractor-grade models. The first 6 models launched March 20, and more than a dozen more will be launching over the next three months. By summer 2017, select Westinghouse generator models will also feature on-board Smart Technology that allows the user to turn on/off and monitor the fuel levels of their generator using an app on an Android or iOS (Apple) device. The Westinghouse portable generators will be among the first to incorporate Smart Technology.

Westinghouse Pro Series

Designed for professional contractors, the Westinghouse Pro Series generators are OSHA and NEMA compliant and include 120/240V AC GFCI outlets and USB ports. These units are also ideal for rental companies to meet the needs of their customers. The Pro Series starts with a compact iPro2500 inverter generator that delivers 2,500 peak watts. The line also includes 4,000-, 8,000- and 12,000-watt generators. All of these units are equipped with electric start, never-flat wheels, GFCI-protected control panels, and fuel gauges on the tank. The Pro8000 and Pro12000 also have an onboard data center to monitor volts, frequency and hours, as well as a 120/240V 50A outlet.

Westinghouse iGen Inverter Generators

The quiet and lightweight Westinghouse iGen Inverter Generator Series includes several models, ranging from 1,200 to 4,500 peak watts. Delivering less than 3-percent total harmonic distortion (THD), iGen Inverter generators produce clean power and are safe for use with sensitive electronics like laptops and smartphones. The units are highly fuel efficient compared to conventional portable generators — saving users big money on gasoline. Also, these units operate at volumes lower than typical conversation levels and much quieter than a traditional generator. The iGen4500st is the top of the iGen line and incorporates 120V AC duplex and 120V AC 30A outlet, as well as 2 USB ports. It also has wheels and a retractable handle for easier handling.

Westinghouse WGen Series

The open-frame generators in the Westinghouse WGen Series range from 2,000-8,300 running watts. These units are simple to use and dependable, making them ideal for homeowners and do-it-yourselfers. The WGen6500st and WGen8300st will feature Smart Technology; 120V, 120/240V, and USB outlets; push-button start; never-flat wheels; and fuel gauges on the tank. Dual fuel units are included in the new line as well.

Authorized Westinghouse portable generator dealers have already launched the first 6 models: iGen1200, iGen2000, WGen2000, WGen3600, WGen5500, and WGen7500. Other models will become available throughout 2017.
