Stihl Inc. hosts firefighters for a day of training

160818_firefighters_012Stihl Inc. recently hosted more than 30 firefighters for a day of chain saw operations and maintenance training at its headquarters in Virginia Beach, Va.

The firefighters, who were attending the Virginia State Firefighters Association 2016 Conference at the nearby Hampton Convention Center, were given an in-depth look at the operation and maintenance of the saws that Stihl manufacturing has to offer the fire service industry. Students spent the day working with sawing, cutting, repairing, and maintaining saws.

When conducting rescue operations, time is of the essence. Fire and rescue workers require powerful, dependable equipment to tackle the most demanding tasks. When Stihl designed its Rescue saws, specifically for fire and rescue personnel, it did so with input from the Virginia Beach Fire Department. Stihl also offers product application training to companies and municipalities (including many fire departments) across the country.
